Ivory 3 German D, the ultimate Hamburg Steinway® D-274 concert grand piano instrument Synthogy, is now available, fully integrating massive sampling and a modeling engine that computes the piano's behavior itself in real time. This is a big deal.
As the latest generation of Ivory software instruments, Ivory 3 German D represents a giant leap forward in virtual piano reproduction. The all-new RGB engine fully integrates the large-volume digital sampling of the acclaimed Ivory series with a modeling engine that calculates the behavior of the piano itself in real time. The Ivory 3 German D is a newly recorded Steinway D-274 concert grand piano from Hamburg, Germany, meticulously cared for by master concert technician Michel Pednault, for the RGB engine. The powerful, deep resonant bass and sweet, singing highs. And a refined sound balance. The essence of the beautiful and memorable Steinway sound is demonstrated.

◎ Major Updates
RGB Engine
At the heart of the Ivory 3 engine is a new proprietary RGB technology, the RGB (Real-time Gradient Blending) engine, custom designed by George Taylor, Synthogy's foremost expert in DSP development. Innovative, scalable, and flexible, the new generation of real-time playback and DSP technology delivers unprecedented expressiveness and stunningly realistic piano sound.
◯ MIDI 2.0 support
Ivory 3 features the new "Continuous Velocity to Timbre" function. Continuous Velocity provides real-time velocity-to-timbre changes in all attack velocities: 127 levels of MIDI 1.0 velocity, 16,384 levels of MIDI (CC88) Velocity Extension, MIDI 2.0 16 bit Ivory 3's Continuous Velocity functionality provides the smoothest velocity changes possible, regardless of which of the 65,536 levels of Hi-Resolution velocity the controller transmits.
◯ Multi-microphone function
With Ivory 3, multiple microphone settings can be freely changed and blended. The Close, Mid/Side (M/S), and Ambient setting positions are available. Each position can be easily turned on and off with a single click, and routing, balance, EQ and dynamics processing, and sends to reverb can be performed in real time using the mixing desk newly included in Ivory 3.
Currently supported on macOS only; support for Windows is planned for the future.
