Carefully sampled from the finest pianos
Pianoverse has meticulously sampled the finest pianos to provide piano sounds that match any genre. IK's sound team spends a long time searching for the best condition pianos from leading manufacturers such as Yamaha, Steinway, Bösendorfer, and Fazioli, and tuning them at top studios in Italy. Sampling is then performed using multiple microphone setups and IK's own custom-built sampling robot, allowing for highly accurate velocity measurements not possible with traditional sampling workflows, ensuring not only the timbre but also the feel of the performance. Perfectly reproduced.

Highest precision robot-assisted sampling
What I wanted to express with Pianoverse was the realism inherent in piano. Each piano has its own unique movement and associated sound. Piano keys have a unique dynamic curve (how the volume responds to changes in velocity), and this curve is different for each key. Many traditional sampling techniques flatten or oversimplify piano dynamics. It was inevitable that something would happen. To eliminate such sampling that compromises realism, Pianoverse has developed and uses a high-resolution, consistent sampling robot.

Robot-assisted sampling of a Steinway & Sons piano
The sampling robot consists of highly precise and quiet linear motors, rubber parts and 3D printed actuators. This is a custom-built robot for sampling that combines advanced hardware technology, unique software technology, and craftsmanship. The actuator is separated from the motor to prevent mechanical shock from being transmitted to the robot typing the keys, and even simulates the aftertouch of a human finger.

The robot is controlled using dedicated motor drives, an advanced programmable logic controller system, and multiple custom technologies designed to run quieter and send specific control signals to the software. I am. The signals that drive the motors are controlled by a computer, and independently developed recording software automatically samples the robot while synchronizing the robot's movements and recording.
In this way, sampling is performed while strictly controlling the necessary steps in order to capture every part of the piano's true DNA.

Sampling each piano begins by performing an articulated calibration. This is done to sense the instrument's dynamics, measure timbre changes, and check the piano's unique characteristics. Once calibration is complete, piano-specific sampling parameters are defined and optimized to obtain more realistic samples.

During recording, the software monitors the entire recording process. It also detects whether the release has been recorded until it has decayed properly, whether there is clipping, and whether unexpected and unnecessary noise is mixed in during recording. Once one note has been completely sampled, the command to move the robot to the next key is finally executed.

This ultra-precise system carefully samples every element of the sonic DNA, including each piano's unique velocity curve, resulting in a breathtakingly faithful playing experience.

Powerful new design engine
IK's sound design team used 20 years of virtual instrument programming to bring thousands of carefully recorded samples to life. Pianoverse features a completely redesigned sound engine, round robin, and voice management to give users an experience that closely resembles a real piano.

Pursuit of realistic piano sound
Pianoverse is equipped with detailed performance controls to pursue the optimal sound on stage or in the studio. You can control the entire sound produced by the piano, from the resonance of the strings to the position of the lid to the noise of the pedals and mallets.
It also supports advanced real-time pedal operations such as half pedal, catch pedaling, and una corda, so there is no compromise in reproducing not only the sound but also the feel of the performance. Whether it's classical, jazz, pop, or Latin, Pianoverse delivers truly great piano sound and feel.

Pianoverse Model GUI
Studio class sound shaping
Pianoverse allows you to use two sets of microphones per piano, and includes all the essential studio tools for sound shaping and mixing. You can create the sound you envision, such as a modern performer's perspective or a more classic sound.
Instrument and room mic pairs each have EQ and compression available with multiple modes. The final master channel features an EQ, a VCA-style limiter, a WIDTH parameter to adjust the stereo image, and a parameter to switch between player and audience perspective.

Pianoverse Mix GUI
innovative space generator
Pianoverse is more than just a virtual instrument that reproduces a real piano. Pianoverse is equipped with a space generator using a newly developed generative reverberation engine, which allows you to place precisely reproduced realistic pianos in all 30 virtual spaces. You can choose not only concert halls and studios, but also spaces such as warehouses and vaults, and even icebergs, deserts, and Mars.

Realistic spaces like clubs and cathedrals are great for regular piano playing, but be more adventurous and try out different types of spaces. Each space creates a new soundscape that will inspire your creativity. Some spaces have additional controls that allow you to further alter the sound of the space, allowing you to create cinematic sounds and textures like you've never heard before.

With its immersive and inspiring sound design options, Pianoverse can also be used as a design tool for creating new ambient sounds like never before.

Powerful creative effects
In addition to the spatial generator, Pianoverse includes 12 new creative effects. Three types of these effects can be used at the same time, ranging from spatial to classic studio effects. The effect slots consist of 1 send effect and 2 insert effects, and you can use 4 modulation sources (2 envelopes, 2 LFOs) to modulate the parameters of the effects in these three slots. Masu.

Combining effects and modulation in this way allows for more aggressive sound design that is not available with other piano sound sources.

8 types of pianos
Pianoverse allows you to enjoy a wide palette of sounds even with just one piano model. It's a good idea to start with one type and add other piano models as needed. Pianoverse also offers subscription plans that give you access to all piano models. The subscription plan gives you immediate access to all currently released piano models, as well as additional piano models that will be released soon.
