Funny story, during the first stages of testing by the first engineer, one particular software model "shut down" because it was overdriven. It stopped working completely. However, the lead engineer immediately approved the model. The real amp had a slight design flaw that caused a power failure shutdown if the amp was overdriven for too long. The software model was so accurate that it even recreated this design flaw. Hear it for yourself.

AmpliTube 5 Custom Shop is a free software package for Mac or PC that includes a complete guitar dual signal chain (tuner, pedal board, amp, cabinet, mic and rack effects section). It comes with 39 pieces of gear and gives you access to our very own online virtual music store. In this store, you can buy gear models a la carte or as a complete collection. You can also combine this gear collection with the collection of gear you can try or buy in the Custom Shop to create almost any rig you can imagine.
When used as a standalone application, AmpliTube 5 Custom Shop features a 2-track recorder section and a song player for easy playing. The SpeedTrainer feature allows you to slow down the audio to learn Satch's signature licks note by note without affecting the pitch.

The entire chain now supports up to 57 models simultaneously across stomps, racks, amps and cabs. Setup is also incredibly easy, just drag and drop any model to build or rearrange even the most complex rigs in seconds.

For the first time, AmpliTube 5 features a redesigned cabinet section with all-new DSP. IK's new Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR™) uses 600 IRs per speaker (1,200 IRs for a 2-speaker cabinet and 2,400 IRs for a 4-speaker cabinet) to capture a massive 3D array of microphone placement options, capturing all the interactions between speakers, cabinets and floor for a completely realistic sound.
