Delicate. Surreal. Sublime.
Born from ambitious orchestral recording sessions for an upcoming virtual instrument, Drift is a beautiful collection of sounds full of surprise and anxiety, created exclusively for Audiomodern's Soundbox.
By exploring the articulation of flutter-tongued woodwind instruments and manipulating their rich, unpredictable textures with experimental processing and sound design, we have created a fascinating palette of shimmering pads, ethereal harmonics, and tense, whispering wind instruments. All of them are unconstrained, cinematic, and otherworldly.
Drift's evolving textures and tonal ambiguity are perfect for adding atmosphere, depth, and emotion to any production. Whether it's an unsettling dream sequence, a mysterious forest scene, or a moment of quiet revelation, it's perfect for any music. But its versatility goes beyond cinematic themes. It also excels in ambient and downtempo music, experimental electronica, and even genres like dream pop, lo-fi, and deep techno. Drift is a free expansion pack for Audiomodern's MPE-enabled sampler, Soundbox, which is also free to download and use.
