[Free!] Magenta's "The Infinite Crate" AI plugin, which generates an endless stream of music in real time for sampling and DJing by inputting various musical characteristics such as genre, mood, and instruments via text, is now available for free. While using it directly as a finished song may not meet current music production standards (due to limitations in mixing, frequency processing, and fidelity of imitated sounds), it can be useful as a creative tool for generating musical elements. The ability to dynamically mix the influence of prompts in real time is a unique and creative feature, akin to DJing.

Overview
Welcome to the Infinite Crate! A place where you can dig through an imaginary record box to create a constantly evolving stream of music, full of potential and wild new sounds.

Infinite Crate is an experimental DAW plugin built on the new Lyria RealTime live music model from the Gemini API. This plugin allows you to manipulate the live music model in real time using text prompts, sending audio directly to your DAW for sampling, live performance, or as a practice partner for jam sessions.

How to Use
Dig Through the Crate
Blend together genres, moods, instruments—anything you can think of—to explore new sounds. Listening to the stream of music can spark inspiration or help overcome creative blocks.

Jam Along
With Lyria RealTime, you can create a dynamic backing track that changes and evolves with every performance.

Become a Prompt DJ
Play Lyria RealTime like a live instrument. Use prompts and advanced controls to manipulate instrumentation, texture, and genre. Integrate it into your DJ set, add effects, or mix it with other loops.

Controls
BPM: Controls the model to generate audio at the specified BPM. Note that this is not an exact BPM. Setting to [SYNC] instructs the model to generate audio at the specified BPM. [DAW]: When set to "DAW," the BPM setting of your DAW will be used.
Key: Instructs the model to generate audio in the specified key. This is approximate and does not distinguish between major and relative minor keys.
TopK: Top-k sampling is a technique used to control the diversity of the generated audio. Lower values result in more deterministic output from the model.
Temperature: Affects the randomness of the model. Lower values result in more deterministic output.
Density: Adjusts the density of the audio. Higher values result in denser audio. Leave this off if you want the model to decide.
Brightness: Adjusts the brightness of the audio. Higher values result in more high-frequency content. Leave this off if you want the model to decide.
Mute Bass/Drums/Others: Mutes bass, drums, and other sounds from the plugin.
Guidance: Affects how much the model tries to match the text prompt and parameters (prompt) with the previously generated audio (context).

Troubleshooting
Known Limitations
If you generate music continuously for 10 minutes, you will need to click the "Reset" button to restart the session. This is because the experimental Lyria RealTime API currently has a 10-minute limit.
It takes at least one second for the audio to react to changes in the plugin. Please wait. Also, try increasing the slider value if you don't get the desired results.
Audio dropouts may occur (e.g., during buffering or reset).
Server dropouts may occur (e.g., when using multiple plugin instances or when the 10-minute limit is reached).
Windows Ableton DPI Fix
To improve clarity on high DPI monitors using Windows/Ableton:

Click the "..." button in the upper right of the plugin
Disable "Auto-scale plugin window"
Updating API Key
On Mac, open Terminal and run the following command: rm ~/Library/Application Support/Magenta/The Infinite Crate/The Infinite Crate.settings

To use this plugin, you need to create a Gemini API key.
