Xpand!2 is a multitimbral workstation that offers four active sound slots, or parts, per patch. Each part has its own MIDI channel, note range (zone), mix, arpeggiation, modulation, and effect settings. This is a great way to create individual parts.
The true power of Xpand!2 is revealed when you combine four parts to create a single, amazing patch. Each part's voice mode can be set to polyphonic or monophonic. Polyphonic parts can contain up to 64 voices. Monophonic parts offer first, last, highest, and lowest priority, making it easy to specify bass, lead, or solo instruments.
Of course, you can also edit the sound, and the four-channel multitimbral nature of the Xpand! 2 lets you layer sounds. It's not overly quirky, making it a truly useful sound source when you want a straightforward, acoustic-style sound.
