Frequency-Specific Phase Control
X-Phase is an all-pass filter plug-in that offers manual user control and high-quality response. It allows users to apply a phase shift (sometimes called a phase offset) at specified frequencies within a signal. Unlike other types of filters that change the gain at selected frequencies, an all-pass filter maintains the gain constant across the entire signal. This is useful for correcting microphone phase issues during recording, such as those caused by overhead when mixing with a nearby microphone.
X-Phase can also be used to create comb filters by applying a filtered signal to an unfiltered version of the same signal. X-Phase's controls are simple: the frequency control selects the frequency at which a phase offset should be applied, the Q control sets the slope of the correction curve applied to the entire signal, and the phase invert button flips the filter 180 degrees.
For broader time alignment, a separate Delay section applies to the entire signal. The delay control includes a delay display and adjustment in seconds, milliseconds, samples, meters, or feet, along with a set of buttons for fine adjustment.
