SSL X-Gate is a comprehensive, highly visual gating plug-in inspired by the workflow of SSL’s digital broadcast consoles. Drawing on SSL’s rich heritage in digital console gate design, X-Gate features a rolling waveform graph, Mid/Side processing options, and adjustable hysteresis using independent open and close thresholds. It offers unique controls for advanced sound sculpting; use the intuitive side-chain filter interface and Mid/Side balance options to focus the gate on unwanted sounds while keeping the processed signal natural or creatively shaped. In addition to visual feedback—including a hardware-inspired signal system for instant status monitoring—the rolling waveform graph provides an intuitive view of the incoming signal to help you set open and close thresholds.
