Orra Audio’s "Orra EQ"—the ultimate EQ plugin packed with comprehensive features ranging from per-band sidechain processing to dynamic EQ, saturation, and pitch tracking—is now 41% off at just $29. It features a convenient design that consolidates processes—such as per-band sidechaining and saturation—into a single plugin, tasks that would typically require multiple plugins chained together.
By integrating processes that usually require a plugin chain into a single tool, you can streamline your workflow.
The Reason for Orra EQ
We didn't set out to create just another EQ. We wanted to combine sound-shaping elements—EQ, saturation, and dynamics—and control them on a per-frequency basis, without being restricted to separate plugins.
The Traditional Approach
To shape the tone, you load an EQ; to add character, you load a saturator; for dynamics, you load a compressor. Each plugin processes the entire signal before passing it to the next. Consequently, it is difficult to smoothly execute a workflow where you EQ only the high frequencies, apply saturation only to the mids, and compress only the lows.
Signal processing happens sequentially, one step at a time.
The Orra Way
It features 16 bands, each with its own unique mode. You can EQ one frequency, apply saturation to another, and compress yet another—all in any order you choose. You can layer a tube saturator after a dynamic cut on the same band, or alternate processing styles across the entire spectrum.
You have control over the entire sound-shaping chain for each frequency.
Designed for Your Workflow
Whether you choose a surgical corrective approach or a creative, transformative one. Key Features
17 Saturation Types—All Dynamic-Ready
Choose from 10 unique saturators—ranging from "Orra Tube" and six tape machine models to vintage preamp warmth and the destructive power of an aggressive wavefolder.
Apply dynamic processing to any saturation type. Dynamic saturation goes beyond simply adding harmonics; by enriching harmonic content, it brings out quiet details. It functions similarly to upward compression but adds tonal color and character alongside gain.
The result is a sense of presence and richness that reacts to your performance, rather than just a static effect.
Saturation That Breathes with the Music
Snap to Notes and Keys
Stop guessing frequencies. Enable the "Snap to Note" function to automatically lock bands to specific musical pitches—such as C2 or F#4—as needed.
Simply right-click any band and select the exact note you want to lock to (e.g., C2, F#4, A1). No more hunting for frequencies with a calculator.
It is ideal for precisely tuning bass notes, taming vocal resonances, and ensuring boosts align perfectly with the musical key.
Use EQ Musically, Not Just Technically
A Full-Featured EQ and More
Even before applying saturation, Orra EQ serves as a fully featured parametric equalizer. It offers 16 bands, Q values ranging from 0.1 to 40, low-cut and high-cut filters with slopes up to 96dB/oct, and a frequency range of 10Hz to 22kHz.
With per-band Mid/Side processing, you can independently apply EQ, saturation, and dynamic processing to the center and side components of your mix. Extensive keyboard shortcuts allow for full control without ever taking your hands off the keyboard.
Use it as-is whenever you need clean, transparent equalization. Switch to "Band Mode" whenever you need more saturation or a more dynamic sound. It’s all available in a single plugin—without compromise.
A professional-grade equalizer that evolves with your needs.
New in Version 1.4.0: Orra Link 2
A dynamic EQ that responds to any track.
Each Dynamic EQ band features its own independent sidechain source. By using Orra Link 2—a free companion sender included with the Orra EQ installer—you can select sources by track name rather than channel number. This allows you to sidechain any track from any DAW, even if your host doesn't support standard bus routing.
Sidechaining per band. Sources per band.
Each Dynamic EQ band selects its detection source independently. Attenuate the low end of a kick drum, reduce muddiness in a snare, or tame harsh frequencies in lead vocals—all with three different sources and three independent dynamic adjustments within a single plugin instance.
Simply drop Orra Link 2 onto a track, and its name—color-coded to match the track—will appear in the sidechain selector for each band. No need to memorize channel numbers or keep track of complex routing.
Visualize your EQ work and adjust based on the sound.
Orra EQ v1.4.0 introduces integration with Orra Link 2 (allowing you to select sidechain sources by name and visualize linked tracks behind the EQ curve), per-band pitch tracking, vertical zoom, and a rebuilt oversampling engine. Since all changes are additive, existing sessions load perfectly without altering your previous settings.
✓ Source Spectrum and Masking Overlay: See exactly where linked tracks conflict with your signal.
✓ Per-Band Pitch Tracking: Each band tracks monophonic sources, ranging from the fundamental frequency up to the fourth harmonic. ✓ Vertical display zoom: From full view down to ±3 dB, with a resolution of 0.01 dB per pixel.
✓ Rebuilt oversampling engine: ~90 dB aliasing suppression at 2x, while maintaining zero latency.
✓ Reliable window resizing and UI scaling; supports invertible zones and piano-roll style display.
✓ Sidechain selection persists after session reloads; numbered channel links (1–36) remain supported.
