Tone Empire "FireChild", a compressor plug-in that accurately emulates vintage compressors, is now 80% off and $19, the lowest price ever, by far. $29. I didn't think it could get any lower, but this is crazy.
FireChild is intended to emulate the characteristics of 1950s King ofCompressors. The vintage unit is a variable muting compressor, which uses a vacuum tube to reduce the gain of the audio signal path (no rerouting to the compression circuit is required). These fast attack times were one of the most important features of the compressor, given their primary purpose as a protection device in broadcast or vinyl disconnected environments where a limiter must reliably catch unwanted signal peaks. the FireChild plug-in is available in not one, but "clean version" and has four models, including a "clean" version. This is an off mode of convolution and also offers a "non-tinted" compression characteristic version.
Features
- Stereo Link-This switch toggles between stereo compressor mode and two mono (LR) compressor modes. It only works on stereo channels.
- Model Selector A / B / C / off -A / B / C model is an emulation of three tube versions of the compressor with tube color and saturation characteristics, with actual samples from three different hardware models with slightly different electrical components and different stages Tube Life. 4 model (OFF) features a "transparent" version of the compressor with no coloration by the tubes.
- BIAS - This controls compressor bias providing additional saturation for all 4 models.
- VU Meters-These indicate gain reduction for both channels (in stereo mode) or the mono channel.
- Input Gain--Input gain, ranging from -24 dB to + 24 dB, saturates hard-driven sound as well as its analog counterpart. It can be used to saturate the Model A / B / C signal with or without compression circuitry.
- Output Gain-This is the last stage of the signal path and trims the output signal to -24 dB or adds up to 24 dB of gain.
- Threshold-This controls the threshold of the compressor circuit.
- Range-+ 10 to -30dB.
- Knee-Use this control to control the knee curve of the compressor.
- RELEASE-Five fixed release times from fast to slow from the original compressor.
- MIX-Control to balance the mix of wet (compressed) and (uncompressed) signals from the model/convolution engine. The dry signal is processed from model A / B / C, the off mode has no color characteristics and produces an absolute dry / original signal.
- Side Chain and Filter Section
- Sidechain Gain - This controls the gain of the sidechain signal going into the compressor's sidechain circuit. The higher the gain, the more compression.
- LP Filter-Low-pass filter (range 20 Hz to 20 kHz) filters the sidechain signal using a 24 dB / oct low-pass filter.
- HP Filter-High-pass filter (range 20 Hz to 20 kHz) filters the sidechain signal using a high-pass filter of 24 dB/oct.
- Sidechain Power-Switches the sidechain circuit on and off.
- Mains power - plug-in bypass switch. Ideal for testing "before" and "after" processing.
- Presets-This plug-in comes with a large number of presets for most applications. Choose these as a starting point or create your own from scratch.
- Oversampling-Oversampling the signal to reduce aliasing and extend the resolution/quality of the processing with 8x uptown oversampling. Use with caution. This is CPU intensive.
