After the success of the Next Gen choir series (Wotan, Freyja, Arva, Rhodope 2), it was inevitable that Strezov Sampling needed to upgrade Storm Choir to have the same features as the rest of their choral library. So they re-recorded everything, but this time with a slightly larger ensemble. There were 10 singers per section (male/female) for the syllables and 6 singers per section for the legato. Again, they had the same idea in mind - singing with exaggerated vibrato and generally singing very loudly. Strezov Sampling re-recorded all 24 syllables of Storm Choir 2 in three dynamic layers controllable by the modulation wheel (CC#1). 

There are basically two approaches to virtual choir: Phrasebulding (Storm Choir Legacy Series) and Wordbuilding (Rhodope Legacy Series). Storm Choir Ultimate combines the simplicity of phrase building and sample recording with the advanced editing features of wordbuilding, just like the Next Gen choral libraries. This not only produces great sounding results in seconds, but also allows you to create and build new sample content with just a few mouse clicks (combine multiple syllables, save as presets, morph between vowels, combine staccato and sustain, etc.). etc.). ).

All samples contain natural attacks. However, if you want to be more precise, you can use the Syllabuilder engine to set custom attack, release, volume, and offset values for each field individually. All that is missed in the phrase-building choral library is something entirely new. You can also create complete choral patterns within the GUI or add motion to your choir arrangement by connecting different syllables and morphing them together. Complete lyric presets can be saved and loaded for quick incorporation into the actual configuration or to enhance the setup with predefined quick words.

Like all libraries, Storm Choir Ultimate has true legato patches that can be played polyphonically without problems or additional complex requirements. Just play the music in your head and don't worry about anything else. The Syllabuilder engine also has Agile Legato, which gives you the option to cut off the first consonant of a syllable and play it again polyphonically as a legato. Intelligent voice leading allows polyphonic writing within a single patch. This means that you can hold down a chord with your left hand and play a melody with your right hand, all connected by legato transitions. This powerful feature is controlled by the sustain pedal, the most common of all MIDI CC controllers.

The library also has a dedicated FX section with whispers (two dynamics - soft and "theatrical" whispers), shouts, clusters (multiple dynamics, registers, and vowels), and traditional risers and falls. Whispers and shouts are included in the Syllabuilder patch, which allows morphing between syllables, connecting them, and creating new words, patterns, and effects very quickly.
