Barker Clarinet is a true legato clarinet library performed by conductor and educator Joshua Barker. It was recorded at Orb Studios in Austin, Texas. The goal was to create an agile and emotive clarinet. All performances were recorded with a natural and progressive vibrato. In our view, this helps warm up the sound and broaden the emotional range of the instrument. Each patch was created to further uniquely address a particular context; the Emotional patch contains a more subtle style of vibrato; the Workhorse patch is an agile mezzo forte instrument, perfect for more traditional, upbeat situations; and the Sassafras patch is a more aggressive, more aggressive, more aggressive mezzo forte instrument.
Fat Reed was actually recorded in the same space as Sasaki Trumpet/Austin Saxophone. What we found is that it also serves as an excellent emotional instrument in strong, dramatic situations where you want the clarinet to sing properly. Finally, we included a breathing patch. This helps the clarinetist sell the performance with both short and long controlled breaths at the ready.
