By building new concepts into the Loop Engine's feature set, we have created an entirely new way of working that greatly expands the scope of MIDI generation. The multitrack playback routing options make it easier than ever to integrate this plug-in into your DAW projects. Use your favorite virtual synths and instruments with a loop engine that seeds up to eight different MIDI parts and sends them to an accompanying secondary plug-in. Loop Engine Listener. These two tools allow you to design complex multitrack loops that span multiple tracks in your DAW, or use presets as a starting point for legendary loops.

Multitrack Operation

Although similar in appearance, Loop Engine offers far more functionality than any previous CHORDS plug-in. It offers advanced multitrack routing and playback, as well as a wealth of new features. Loop Engine Listener

Routing MIDI from the primary plug-in to additional tracks is a special source behind the Loop Engine. This is accomplished by an additional secondary plug-in. Loop Engine Listener. The Loop Engine outputs up to eight independent MIDI voices that can be routed to the Loop Engine Listener and loaded onto instrument tracks in the DAW. Selecting which voice feeds which track is as easy as a few clicks to swap between them.

Loop View

Adjust global controls in Loop View to fine-tune chord inversion, length, speed, root major/minor, and overall playback key. You can adjust entire riffs on the fly with amazing ease. To get into the details, click on a chord segment for finer control over chord shape, individual inversions, and velocity.

Chord Modes

A wide range of playback options for each chord can be manipulated using simple controls. Program each chord segment with inversions ranging from -4 to +4. Use the Range parameter to transform the chord shape and widen the note spacing. Raise the lowest note an octave or lower the highest note an octave to invert the chord.

Tension and Stretch

Once you have loaded a chord and selected a segment, use the chord shape range in the center of the interface to select from 21 chord types, ranging from tonic, subdominant, dominant, and simple triads to more advanced chord shapes. Apply chord types and tensions with the nine new Transform buttons in the Loop Engine's Advanced mode.

Creation Station

Click "Create" to randomly generate one or more chords as the basis for note and loop playback. The loop engine offers 30 diverse chord types and tensions to generate natural sequenced harmony progressions.

Simple Segments

Creates up to 8 chord segments with up to 8 partitions each. Trigger 1-4 notes per chord and choose how they are played. Playback is locked to the BPM of the DAW, and segments can be added/deleted and parameters can be changed individually.

Partition Playback

Partitions chords and draws playback of 4 chord notes to create melodies, arpeggios, short chords, and loops. Copy/paste and repeat options allow you to easily sketch out loop ideas for one chord and apply that playback to other chords to continue experimenting. Don't forget the voicing option that allows you to send up to 8 loops to 8 different DAW tracks.

Overlap Mode

The POLY button creates patterns that loop indefinitely. These patterns can be longer or shorter than the chord segments or loop repeats. It creates intertwining alps that go beyond the normal chord structure. Each time a portion of a poly pattern enters a new chord segment, the notes in that section adapt to the new harmonic environment. Go wild and create self-generating melodies using poly modes, multiple voices, and recombinations of them all.

MIDI Export

To further customize chords and riffs, drag and drop chords and arps from the plug-in directly into your DAW. Allow the original chords to be MIDI edited, transposed, and tweaked to fit the sound of your music.

Powerful Presets

Loop Engine comes with many presets categorized for chord progressions. In addition, sequence presets for chords, riffs, and arpeggios. These presets make it easy to source musical motifs that could be developed into complete tracks.
