Tomofon is Klevgrand's groundbreaking new synth. This virtual instrument uses a new innovative "audio model" format with the unique ability to process very large amounts of waves extracted from real audio. Whether you play with the included Audio Model Starter Pack (Instruments and Voices) and presets or import your own audio to shape your own soundscapes, you are on a creative journey.
Simply put, a tomophone is not a sampler. An instrument in its own right, and not necessarily intended to imitate real instruments or voices, Tomofon has introduced a new "audio model" format, which allows you to create your own audio model of the sound you want to produce. In this format, the generated sound is seamlessly morphed between sections of various layers and vast amounts of real audio waves. This results in a very organic, yet out-of-this-world, instantly playable synthesizer. . The possibilities to change the character of a sound are so extensive and multi-layered that it adds a new dimension to music production.
It also appears to be possible to prepare your own audio models through audio import.
An important feature of this plug-in is that users can import their own audio files to create new, unique audio models. Regular audio files (preferably with monophonic content) can be easily imported automatically or manually and distributed to the various pitch zones of the keyboard range. Performing an automatic import is essentially a one-click process that instantly generates an appropriate playable audio model. Manual import gives the user complete control over which waves reach which pitch zones. Last but not least, users can easily share their own audio models with others.
