Sound Magic's Ruby Grand, a hybrid modeling grand piano instrument featuring four Yamaha grand pianos, is now 83% off at $49, the lowest price ever.
Ruby Grand combines the dynamic combination of four exceptional Yamaha grand pianos into one at a surprisingly affordable price. This gives musicians of all skill levels more freedom to create their own beautiful music and unparalleled artistry.
Ruby Grand
Boasting the renowned Yamaha C7 sound, the Ruby Grand has graced some of the most prestigious concert stages, international competitions, and prestigious musical events around the world. Its mellow sustain, beautiful tone, and unique timbre make it ideal for pop, jazz, and rock.
Ivory C
Recorded in a concert hall, the Yamaha C7 provides a rich, lively performance sound that can be enjoyed on its own or combined with larger instruments or layered melodies.
The amazing CFX
Handcrafted by Yamaha, the new CFX concert grand has the power to sing above a full symphony orchestra while maintaining the relaxed ease of playing solo passages. It also offers improved dynamic performance and better sound balance.
Mini-Ruby
Smaller than the traditional C7, the Yamaha C3 offers the same rich sound, but with a unique and inspiring feel that sets it apart from the Concert Grand.
HD VELOCITY LAYER 3 with HDR (High Dynamic Range) Technology
Piano dynamics is the most decisive factor in sound quality, and Sound Magic had already applied its True Piano Dynamic system, which is the most efficient representation of piano dynamics, about 10 years ago. True Piano Dynamic means that the piano has different dynamics from the lowest to the highest notes. The dynamic range of the higher notes is usually greater. Now, with the True Piano Dynamic system, every note can have its own dynamic range, completely controlled by the knob.
The Ruby Grand features HD Velocity Layer 3 (supports up to 65,536 velocity layers) with Hybrid Modeling Technology and HDR (High Dynamic Range) Technology for a natural increase in expressiveness that is felt with every keystroke. The HD Velocity Layer 3 engine is capable of Together with the new NeoPiano engine, which offers 400 times more variation than the previous sample engine, each note played creates a unique and vivid sonic expression, and even the smallest movement produces a rich and precise tone. Essentially, it is an instrument with a musical soul rather than a mechanical feel. What's more, with this new version, HDR can be applied to experience this on systems that support only 127 velocity layers. This allows you to use this technology without the expense of upgrading your MIDI system.
Specially designed staccato mode
When you play a strong staccato on the piano, you will notice that the sound on release is different from the normal sound. This difference adds more variety to the final sound of the piano and contributes to the vibrancy and expressiveness of the piano sound.
To accurately reproduce this staccato sound, we have added a specially sampled staccato instrument that you can use in your music projects.
Adding some resonance to a beautiful sound
Resonance plays an important role in the piano sound. It adds additional beauty to the overall sound. In reality, the large soundboard of every grand piano reflects sound that resonates with the wooden body of the instrument itself. In fact, this continuous process makes every note played sound very unique.
Ultimately, to simulate this behavior, Sound Magic captured multi-angle IR (impulse response) from the soundboard and used modeling technology to convert those IRs into a multi-dimensional resonance algorithm. The result? An amazingly true-to-life concert hall sound, easily accessible to everyone.
Resonance Resonance occurs when overtones are heard in keys related to the key struck. This is an interaction between different strings that adds a special color to the sound of every note. This creates a unique sound that the audience will enjoy listening to.
When the sustain pedal is pressed, sustain resonance and string resonance are heard. These can be subtle, but as part of the piano's resonance, our Neo Piano Engine has the ability to represent the various resonances in the proper way and control their amount and behavior.
Precise Damper Control
The Neo Piano Engine also models the behavior of the damper, which controls when to stop the sound. With damper control, the musician can choose whether the piano is newly built or more than 20 years old. It is also interesting to note that the damper material can be changed from soft to hard. It is a great way to experience the difference in sound.
