Sampleson's AI overdrive pedal generator plug-in "rePEDAL" has been released and is now available for free. Judging from the description on the official website, it can be considered an official release, but it seems to be in beta for now. It would be a problem if there were unexpected errors, so you need to take this into consideration when using it in a project. It's a one-off, so it's essential to record the model with the save button. Since completely new models are produced, sometimes strange ones come out, but some models have a good sense of style. I particularly like the clean type as an author. There are some concerns, such as the model switching when the UI is closed in random generation, but it's an interesting attempt. Rather than whether it will be put into practice, I'm more interested in the future, so I'd like to give feedback and support the development.
rePEDAL is an experimental machine learning project from Sampleson, and is currently in beta. Every time you click the REMAKE icon, it randomly generates a new overdrive pedal.
It works by randomizing the structure of the neural network and creating a new model with each iteration.
In this project we go beyond hardware replication and explore the creative possibilities of neural networks in sound design.

How to use
rePEDAL is available in VST3 and Audio Unit plugin format and is compatible with all DAWs that support these standards (Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, etc.).
To get started, simply load rePEDAL as an effect on an audio track in your DAW. Then press the REMAKE button to explore the randomly generated pedal models.

👉 Set your DAW to 48 Khz for more accurate model generation.

The demo was recorded without any processing other than rePEDAL in the signal chain. (We recommend setting your DAW to 48kHz for more accurate sound generation.)

This is an oscilloscope display of a basic sine wave processed by rePEDAL.
As shown, the resulting waveforms vary widely from model to model, sometimes resulting in quite unusual shapes. 😲
